SALT POND BAY BEACH

HIKE - SWIM - SNORKEL - SUN

Salt Pond Bay Beach is a nice sandy stretch located near Ram's Head and Concordia on the Southeast end of St. John. The parking lot is the last stop for the VITran bus that starts at the ferry dock in Cruz Bay. For a dollar, visitors can ride the bus from the Ferry to Salt Pond Bay. The parking lot is located on the road and the hike down to the beach is probably 1/4 mile down hill. The hike back up is fairly steep so be sure to wear good shoes for the hike.

There is a porta-john on the beach as well as a few picnic tables but no running water or other facilities. There is good snorkeling to the right when facing the water and visitors often see an octopus in the rocks there. At the far end of the beach there are hiking trails to Ram's Head and Drunk Bay. Visitors coming from Concordia can hike down from the resort.
